What happens when artists and policymakers ask each other the questions? A Question on Artistic Freedom began with that exchange, gathering more than 70 artists, cultural professionals and policymakers from 16 countries.

Two ways into the conversation

I wrote and produced the documentary and developed a participatory format connecting contributions across borders. Alongside the film, an interactive documentary lets viewers choose questions and filter interviewees, following their own route through the conversation.

A dialogue that can grow

Built with Drupal and jQuery, the web experience extends the interview beyond a fixed edit. The film offers an authored narrative; the interactive work gives the audience room to explore the relationships between voices.
