Migration Media Representation and Behavioural Insights

Looking beyond a single source

How are migrant and refugee children represented, and what disappears between public discussion and lived experience? In Italy, I brought together field reporting, social listening, media monitoring and government statistics to help teams examine that question from several directions.

Connecting evidence

The work included a delivered monitoring and accountability tool, multilingual social listening, AI-supported classification of discrimination, actor monitoring and alerts linked to Power BI. I connected technical systems with programme questions so that different sources could inform a shared view.

From analysis to public discussion

I also reviewed research and contributed inputs to the report Tra realtà e rappresentazione, produced with UNICEF, Carta di Roma and the Osservatorio di Pavia. Published in February 2025, it examines the representation of migrant and refugee children in the media. My contribution formed part of a collective research and programme effort.
