A Question on Artistic Freedom: Participatory Advocacy Across Borders
This participatory transmedia project brought together more than 70 artists, cultural professionals and policymakers to exchange questions on freedom of artistic expression.
The challenge
Debates on artistic freedom are often framed through institutional language that excludes the people most directly affected. The project sought to create a more open and reciprocal space for dialogue across different political and cultural contexts.
My contribution
I designed the participatory interview format, coordinated contributions across Senegal, Indonesia and Norway, and connected the audiovisual material through an interactive digital experience.
Strategic value
The result was not only a documentary product, but a scalable advocacy method: using distributed participation, digital storytelling and peer-to-peer questioning to surface diverse perspectives and support policy dialogue.
