The UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) was created in 2004 to promote cooperation with and among cities that have placed creativity and cultural industries at the heart of their development plans at the local and the international level. The Network currently includes 246 cities and covers seven creative fields: Crafts and Folk Arts, Media Arts, Film, Design, Gastronomy, Literature and Music. The aim of the video was to promote the network during the celebration of World Cities Day 2018, which took place on the 31sr of October. The main event was jointly organised by UN-Habitat, the Shanghai People’s Government and the City of Ekaterinburg. UNESCO held a conference on the same days at the headquarters in Paris. Through use of of motion graphics, animations and mashups, I could combine multiple promotional videos from UNESCO's archive to create a fluid 30" worldwide journey across the diversity of cultures and creative expressions offered by the network.
