UNESCO Policy Monitoring Platform: Turning Statutory Reporting into Global Evidence
The UNESCO Policy Monitoring Platform was designed to transform statutory reporting under the 2005 Convention into an accessible and comparative source of global policy evidence.
The challenge
Member State reports contained valuable information on cultural policies and measures, but the data were difficult to navigate, compare and reuse for research or decision-making.
My contribution
I conceived and coordinated the platform’s development, helping structure the underlying information model, digitise data flows and design a public interface for browsing policies, measures and country evidence.
Strategic value
The platform converted a periodic compliance process into a living knowledge system, strengthening transparency, comparability and the practical use of policy data.
